Gay Holocaust 2005
|
| |
|

2005 is the 60th anniversary of the extermination in
concentration camps by the Nazis of 6 million Jews,
and in excess of 20,000 gay men. Whilst Holocaust-deniers
of the Jewish death toll face litigation and silencing
world-wide, gay men are still fair game with many historians
and social anthropologists denying their extermination.

Positively Healthy presents
regular peer-support workshops for 12 HIV-positive gay
men, from 12 to 3 pm on Saturdays, in a safe, secure,
comfortable and private venue in the heart of Islington.
The sessions will be sensitively facilitated and we will
address the following issues, along with any and all issues
you wish to have addressed:
| Disclosure. Safer sex. Diet. Nutrition.
Supplementation. HAART. Life planning. Thriving
with HIV. Creating a support network. Accentuating
the positive and eliminating the negative. Celebrating
life after HIV. |
The intention of NIRVANA is to create and establish
a network of like-minded men who will empower, support
and evolve one another and create lives worth living.
Major global studies have shown that the greatest fear
for HIV positive gay men is other gay men, but we intend
to create a network where the opposite is true and that
we may experience one another's love, power, humour and
evolution to sustain us in our journeys through life. |

8 Fails Africa |

Positively Healthy CEO, Cass
Mann, attended Bob Geldof's Live 8 concert
in Hyde Park on 2 July, London, and expressed his astonishment,
as a black man himself, that the enormous crowd who
attended during the event was overwhelmingly white,
and that no more than one in 10,000 were from the black
communities. This fact was clearly visible in the photographs
widely published after the event, and in television
broadcasts of the event, an immensely puzzling fact
that was reported in The Sunday Times on 3 July. When
Cass Mann called up his friends from the black communities
on his cellphone, from Hyde Park, to ask why they were
not attending, they stated the event was targeted at
the white communities, as clearly reflected in the white
line up of performers (with four exceptions) and the
entirely white line up of entertainment-lite comperes.

The PARK Project
was conceived and launched in 1995 by Positively Healthy and
Kingston and Richmond Health Authority (KRHA), as a multi-thousand
pound project to benefit local residents living with HIV.
It was led by Cass Mann, CEO of Positively Healthy and Martin
Weaver, Public Health Specialist at KRHA.
The aim of the PARK Project is to: "Develop
community based AIDS prevention strategies that enhance good
health in people who are HIV positive, thereby seeking to
prevent their progression to AIDS defining illnesses. The
users of this project will be residents in Richmond and Kingston-upon-Thames
who are HIV positive and may or may not be using local services,
as well as others who are not yet ready to have an HIV test.
The project will be based with Positively Healthy".

Registered
Enabled Manual (REM) is available
to read and represents the result of months of novel research
and investigation during its preparation conducted by Martin
Weaver and Cass Mann. The writers
hope you find it of use and welcome your comments by email.
Also available to read are the preliminary material which
assisted in the writing of the manual.
The Manual was presented to the staff
of Richmond Adult Community College at three seminars, after
which time the good practice guidelines in the Manual were
adopted as best practice for Local Adult Education Colleges
in Richmond-upon- Thames. Click

The Charity Commission has conducted a number of investigations
on charity maladministration and removed from the register
of charities Positive Lives, the AIDS charity
launched by the owner of UK's most widely circulated
free weekly magazines Boyz and Pink Paper, PHEATS,
the AIDS and drug rehabilitation Charity and the UK's
first Black HIV/AIDS agency BHAN. Frontliners,
the People with AIDS Charity housed within THT closed
before it could be investigated, as did The HEAL
Trust. To read the full

PCRM is a nonprofit organization
supported by physicians and laypersons to combine the efforts
of medical experts and grassroots individuals. PCRM encourages
higher standards for ethics and effectiveness in research.
POSH recommends you visit PCRM,
examine their data and join up. NB: In researching AIDS treatments
animals have not been used as the data from animal studies
are not transferable to humans.
Systematic misconduct on the part of
the Home Office in its enforcement of animal research
regulations has been exposed and submitted to an influential
committee of MPs as part of a long-running quest to bring
the Home Office to justice for its illicit betrayal of animals.
The Commons Home Affairs Committee will decide whether to
conduct a full inquiry into the Home Office's conduct. Click
here to read the damning reports.

We were delighted to find that Richmond Council has
a Partnership Register where gay men and lesbians can
register their relationships with ensuing legal determination
of the relationship. The Government introduced legislation
further deepening the legal determination of the relationships,
and Richmond Council made available the new Registers.
We are grateful to Win Whiting of the Council for making
available the documentation

| Dedication |
|
|
| We celebrate the
inspired and visionary group of doctors (Adrian Moss and
Simon Mansfield), nurses (Dietmar Bolle), researchers,
journalists and gay men living with HIV who founded Positively
Healthy in 1986 as an antidote to the deathwish HIV culture
prevalent at the time. We remember with love those who
are no longer with us and treasure with care those who
are. |
